Selfless teenagers spread some happiness around Norwich at the weekend - to make terminally-ill children smile.
They decorated pebbles with inspirational messages and handed them out to random members of the public to, in turn, give to someone who is special to them.
Aaron Cahill, 18, from Attleborough, dreamt up the idea to promote the work of the East Anglian Children's Hospices (EACH).
He was joined by five friends - Mel Bush, James Vardigans, Tazi Amey, Robbie Curtis, and Katie Bogdan, all members of the National Citizen Service (NCS) regional youth board, the young people's voice for East Anglia.
And they filmed their kind gesture to show the sick children and the charity which supports them that they care.
Aaron, who revealed he had seen the work EACH do after the son of one of his mum's friends passed away aged just six months, said: 'It's a charity that is close to our hearts. EACH was amazing in the support both during and after in caring for the family so it's nice to give back to them.'
The pebbles had four different messages inscribed on them which together spelt out the charity's name - You're Empowered, You're Amazing, You're Courageous and You're Heroic.
Aaron added: 'The idea was to go up to members of the public with EACH promotional material and to give them one of the pebbles. They can either keep it for themselves as a smile we spread to them or they can pass it on to someone else and spread the smile further.'
The free giveaway celebrated NCS action day and was staged just two days before International Day of Happiness on Monday.
Mel, 18, from Norwich, said: 'I think it's good to spread positivity, not just for EACH but for everyone in Norwich, because sometimes people don't realise that they should just step back, take a breather and relax for themselves.
'So today was really important, we think, not just to spread a smile for all the children suffering from these illnesses and getting support from the charity, but for our social action day to make sure everyone is smiling and everyone can be positive in their life.'
And she added: 'We're hoping the children from EACH can watch back our video and feel stronger, and feel as if they have got support from the public and from our kind of age group.'
