Yaxham residents trigger byelection to fill parish council vacancy

A byelection to fill a position on Yaxham parish council will be held following the resignation of John Hull.

At least 10 residents of the village, near Dereham, requested a ballot rather than allowing the parish council to co-op a new member, as had been expected.

The deadline for nominations is Friday June 8, with the poll due to be held on Thursday July 5.

The election will be run by Breckland Council. See its website for further details.
