An investigation has been launched to discover how a Yarmouth pensioner sustained serious head injuries.Police were called to assist Ambulance crews who were dealing with an incident in St Peter's Road at about 6pm yesterday.
An investigation has been launched to discover how a Yarmouth pensioner sustained serious head injuries.
Police were called to assist Ambulance crews who were dealing with an incident in St Peter's Road at about 6pm yesterday.
The man in his 70s, who has not been named, was initially arrested for being drunk and disorderly and was taken to Yarmouth Police Station.
On the advice of the force's medical officer he was later transferred to the James Paget Hospital.
Officers are in the process of contacting the man's immediate family and the Independent Police Complaints Commission has been informed.
