A yacht being transported on the back of a lorry caused delays on Dereham Road in Norwich this afternoon after the lorry driver tried to negotiate their way through a set of traffic lights.
The driver of the lorry spent about 30 minutes trying to drive through a set of traffic lights, at pedestrian crossing near to the junction with Richmond Road on Dereham Road, according to one eyewitness who saw the yacht crash into the lights.
A police escort for the wide-load helped manage the traffic but at one point both lanes were blocked causing long delays on the road and drivers turned back towards Longwater to avoid the route.
The yacht was being transported from Cambridgeshire to Wroxham.
