Benjamin Britten's delightful cantata 'Saint Nicolas' will be performed in Wymondham Abbey on Saturday, December 3, at 7.30pm by the Wymondham Choral Society under the direction of Claire Dixon.
The key role of Saint Nicolas is to be sung by internationally acclaimed tenor Daniel Joy, who has much experience both in opera and on the concert platform for song recitals and principal parts in oratorio.
The pickled boys, as well as the part of Young Nicolas, are to be sung by local boy trebles Thomas Wright, and Philip and Samuel Gay, and Britten's orchestra of strings, percussion, piano duet and organ will be led by David Randall, with Kris Thomsett as the organist, and Katie Vaughan and Anthony Joule the pianists.
The concert will help to raise funds for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).
Tickets will cost 10 if bought in advance, but 12 at the door on the night, and 3 for under-16s, available from Reeves at Damgate Corner in Wymondham on 01953 602297 and from Prelude Records, 25B, St Giles Street in Norwich on 01603 628319.
