A north Suffolk farmer swapped his tractor for a pair of trainers by taking part in a television commercial to promote bread.

Wortham-based Stephen Rash was selected from 450 wheat farmers across the country to star in the latest Hovis advertising campaign.

The advert features the 54-year-old taking to the start line in a cross country farmers' race starring alongside a cast of hundreds.

Overcoming a number of obstacles along the way, the advert is part of a campaign to celebrate Hovis' commitment to using 100pc British wheat across its range.

Mr Rash said: 'I've been working with Hovis growing premium British red wheat for over four years and was honoured to be asked to star in the latest advertising campaign for its soft white bread range.'

'The filming was definitely a change from my everyday routine on the farm and I loved getting a behind-the-scenes insight to what goes on behind the cameras, although I don't think I'll be swapping farming for autograph signing any time soon!'
