The home of Norfolk County Council was evacuated this morning after workmen triggered a fire alarm.

Two crews of firefighters were called to County Hall, on Martineau Lane, at 11.17am.

The evacuation of members of staff and the public lasted about 20 minutes.

A spokesman for the council confirmed it was a false alarm.
