A woman was knocked unconscious after she was violently assaulted and robbed in a Great Yarmouth alleyway.

The incident happened at approximately 12.30pm on Monday (January 30) as the victim, in her 40s, was walking through one of the rows opposite Haven Bridge, from Hall Quay towards the market place.

An unknown person approached her and assaulted her causing her to lose consciousness.

When she eventually came round, a few moments later, she realised money had been stolen from in her bag and her items had been gone through.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have knowledge about the unknown person involved.
