A woman was left shaken after her sports car was car-jacked on the side of a busy A-road.

Detectives are appealing for information following the robbery that happened on the A140 at Stoke Ash, near Eye, on Tuesday evening.

The owner of a blue Porsche Boxster S was driving northbound when a car from behind flashed its lights at 6.10pm. The car then pulled alongside the Porsche and a woman passenger pointed to the front of the sports car.

The victim stopped at a layby to check if there was a problem. A man then opened the driver's door and threatened her. She got out of the Porsche and the man drove off in her car towards Diss with the other car following.

The Porsche's registration is LY10 CUC and two bags containing cash, a watch, a mobile phone and clothing were in the car.

The offender was white, in his early 30s with fair/blond hair and had a straight fringe and was wearing a dark coat. The female passenger had dark hair in a scruffy ponytail. She was in a white car.

Det Insp Karl Smith of Suffolk Police said he was keen to track the Porsche's journey after it was stolen.

'Such incidents are rare, but I would urge all drivers to be aware of their surroundings and keep windows and doors locked when their vehicle is stationary. If you are being signalled to stop by another vehicle, only stop if you are safe and happy to do so,' he said.
