A woman's body has been found after a fire at a house in West Norfolk today. Fire crews were called to an address in Main Road, Clenchwarton, this morning.
The body, which has not yet been identified, was found in a smoke-filled room at the property. Police are currently at the scene and officers are trying to trace relatives of the woman, who is believed to be in her 70s.
A spokesman said: “Police were called at 8.17am to a fire at a house on Main Road in Clenchwarton where a female has sadly died.
“We are currently awaiting a home office forensic scientist to examine the scene, together with our crime scene investigators and fire service investigators. At this time the cause of the fire is unexplained.”
