A woman was rescued from the river in Norwich by the emergency services yesterday evening.

The police and the fire service were called to the incident on Riverside Road at about 7.30pm.

One fire crew from Earlham and the Technical Rescue Unit and Rescue Boat from Carrow attended the scene.

A Norfolk police spokesmen said officers assisted the fire service and he said the woman was believed to be safe and well following the incident.
