Police have today named a 23-year-old woman who died in a crash near Bury St Edmunds, as officers re-new their appeal for witnesses.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 9.25pm on Sunday evening to reports of a two-vehicle crash between a grey Ford Fiesta and a black VW Golf on the A143, near Pakenham.

Police have named the 23-year-old woman, who died on scene, as Hannah Seeley, from Stanton.

The 21-year-old male driver of the VW was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with a serious leg injury. No one else was injured in the collision.

A section of the road was closed and diversions were put in place while collision investigators carried out their enquiries. It was reopened at around 3.45am.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or may have seen the vehicles driving prior to the incident to get in contact immediately.
