Woman injured in Honingham crash

A woman in her 60s was taken to hospital after a road crash involving a lorry at Honingham this morning.

Fire and ambulance crews were called to Berrys Lane, close to the A47 between Dereham and Norwich, shortly after 10.20am to find the woman trapped in her car and the lorry blocking one lane of the road.

The casualty was conscious and breathing, but was suffering from chest pains.

Rescue teams from Norwich and Earlham were able to free the woman from the vehicle and she was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by ambulance, with a critical care paramedic on board.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said the East Anglian Air Ambulance had earlier been put on standby, but had not been required.

Norfolk police closed the road at about 10.45am, and the closure was still in force at 11.26am.
