A woman fought off a would-be mugger after he tried to steal her handbag on a pavement in Watton.
It happened on Monday, August 22 about 6.05pm, just after the woman, in her 30s, parked in George Trollope Road and got out of her car.
Police said the offender, who wore a black hoodie, approached the woman from behind, shouted and grabbed the strap of her handbag.
She then swung round to force him off and saw him run into Constable Court.
The woman then got back into her car and drove away.
The offender was about 6' tall.
