Woman dies following collision with a van in Beccles

A woman has died following a collision with a van in Beccles this afternoon.
Police were called just before 1.25pm to reports of a collision between a Ford Transit van and a woman pedestrian near to the Thurlow Nunn Vauxhall car garage at the junction with Station Road.
Several people began attempts to resuscitate the women before emergency services arrived, and these were continued by paramedics. However she was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The man driving the van was uninjured.
Two ambulances and an air ambulance were also called.
An investigation is now underway and the road remains closed while this takes place.
Officers are asking anyone who may have seen what happened to call the Serious Collision Investigation Team by dialling Suffolk Police on 101, quoting CAD number 200 of Friday, November 6.
