Woman charged with helping men to escape Palgrave secure hospital

A woman has been charged with assisting prisoners to escape after three men got out of a secure hospital in Palgrave, near Diss at the weekend.

Rebecca Martin, a 22-year-old social care assistant of Greys Manor, Banham has been charged with assisting prisoners to escape.

21-year-old Luke Sparks, of Weston-super-Mare, has also been charged with escaping from lawful custody, assault and criminal damage after he escaped from St John's House.

Sparks absconded from St John's House with two other patients, Ross Beeby, 22, and Jason Williams, 21.

A male member of staff sustained a minor head injury as the men escaped.

Beeby and Williams were detained on Sunday afternoon after they were spotted cycling along the A140 towards Diss and Sparks was arrested in south west England.
