Woman airlifted to hospital after falling from horse in Santon Downham

A woman suffered a broken leg after falling from a horse in a Suffolk village this morning.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) were called just after 8am to Mark Lane, in Santon Downham.

An ambulance crew and East Anglian Air Ambulance were dispatched and treated a woman in her 30s who had suffered a broken leg.

She was sedated at the scene before being airlifted to West Suffolk Hospital for further treatment.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
