Suffolk police are investigating.
Investigations are under way after a man and woman were assaulted in Lowestoft.
Emergency services were called out and a man was taken to hospital last night (Wednesday) following the alleged incident close to the town centre.
A police spokesman said: 'We were called to reports of an assault in the Bevan Street East area around 5.45pm.
'A man and a woman were assaulted – with the man being taken to hospital to have a cut to his head treated.'
Police are 'making active enquiries' to trace the attacker, but are asking anyone who saw the incident to call officers at Lowestoft police on 101, quoting crime number 58036/16.
