To celebrate the countdown to the opening of the London 2012 Olympic games moving into its final 50 days, a fun list of ways to get into the Olympic spirit in East Anglia has been released.

Today marks exactly 50 days until the opening ceremony of London 2012 and organisers of the Games are keen to get everyone in the country involved, rather than just people living in London.

The list includes suggestions such as the 'Garden for the Games' project. This is encouraging people to run window boxes down their street in red, white and blue or plant golden marigolds or the Olympic rings in their garden.

There is also the 'Going Green for Gold' scheme, a London 2012 Inspire project which is training young gardeners to create community gardens in Norwich, with the help of Great British Garden designer and former Hewett School pupil, Rachel Read.

- Watch out for the next copy of our free monthly Olympic supplement, London Calling, which is next out on Tuesday, June 26, or go to www.edp24.co.uk/sport/london-calling-olympics-2012 for the latest Olympic news in our region.
