A shop keeper chased off a masked man who tried to rob his store.

Police say the offender entered Londis, in Tinker's Drove, between 3.10pm and 4pm on Sunday with a scarf covering his face.

He threatened a member of staff with a knife and demanded cash.

The 56-year-old victim tried to tackle the offender before chasing him out of the store.

The offender was described as white, 25 to 35, stocky, 5'7'' and was wearing a grey hooded top, scarf and a zip-up jacket with an England logo on the back.

Det Con Tony Harlow, investigating, said: 'This was a terrifying experience for the member of staff who showed great bravery to chase the offender out of the shop.'
