A retired secretary from Stoke Holy Cross is celebrating after turning her life around.
Sue Curtis knew she needed to make a change after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.
The 69-year-old joined a Weight Watchers group at Framlingham Earl just over a year ago weighing 18st 10lbs, at a time when she felt incredibly self-conscious and avoided having her photo taken.
She has since gone on to lose 104.5lbs and is feeling much happier.
She said: “I decided I needed to join after a few health issues, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and had high blood pressure.
“I gained the weight after I lost my husband and I looked to food for comfort but didn’t find it, I was only left more unhappy, more unhealthy and more overweight.”
She added: “I’m no longer on any medication for either blood pressure or diabetes - I have turned my health and life around.”
Ms Curtis started as a member of the Framlingham Earl group but is now a helper at the Wednesday morning meetings at the Methodist church hall.
