The thundering flypast of the legendary heavyweight warbird Sally B, smoke streaming from two of her engines, was a sensational highlight of the Old Buckenham Airshow this summer.

It was a show packed with highlights too, from the Mustang 'Sharkmouth' and the gasp-inspiring Wildcat Aerobatic team to one of the greatest pilots alive today, aviation superstar Brendan O'Brien.

Watching him swoop, spin and push his aircraft through seemingly impossible tricks – and touch his plane down on a moving truck being driven down the Old Buckenham runway – truly had to be seen to be believed.

But the appearance of the rugged Sally B, a virtual airborne miracle as the only B-17 currently flying in Europe, was a genuine ground-shaking showstopper for the award winning airshow.

And if you can't wait to see her again, or are still kicking yourself that you missed the stunning display, pick up a copy of the new airshow DVD, launched this week at Old Buckenham Airfield.

It's packed with behind the scenes footage and superb coverage of the greatest acts at one of Norfolk's best known and loved annual events.

Matt Wilkins, airfield manager and Old Buckenham Airshow organiser, was delighted with the success of the airshow.

'2017's Airshow was by some margin the biggest yet. A combination of the biggest and most impressive display acts in the sky, record crowds and more to see and do than ever before saw Old Buckenham cement its place as the largest and best airshow in Norfolk and Suffolk.'

A DVD to relive those moments, find out more and give those who missed the airshow weekend the chance to enjoy some of the highlights, was an ideal Christmas present, he said.

'Only this fabulous DVD allows you to not only relive the record breaking show, but also get exclusive access behind the scenes and in the cockpit.

'It is almost certainly the finest gift in the history of gifts and yet, astonishingly, is priced as a mere stocking filler.

'It also constantly reminds me of the near impossible task ahead in ensuring that 2018's Airshow matches up,' added Matt.

Airshow fans will be delighted the DVD not only shows highlights of the stunning displays and some truly head spinning in-cockpit footage, but among the behind the scenes peeks are interviews with senior air traffic controller Ian McDowell and respected flying instructor Nigel Willson.
