What is life like as a woman today? Share your thoughts ahead of special edition
All over Norfolk and Suffolk, women are changing lives.
From doctors to teachers, mothers to sisters and fundraisers to fun-runners, there are thousands of women, both well and little-known, who are shaping the region today.
But in a time where feminism has made such great strides, and one where many more could be made, we want to know: What is life like for women in our area today?
In a special edition of the newspaper on Tuesday, November 28, we’ll be speaking to women across the counties about how they feel about their role in society, at home and in the workplace.
We’ll include columns from businesswomen and well-known local names, as well as features and news stories on a range of topics. We’ll also be celebrating those women who do so much to make East Anglia such a fantastic place to call home.
And we’d like your help - we’ve pulled together a survey to try and discover what life a woman is like in Norfolk and Suffolk today.
Perhaps you’ve seen significant changes over your years at work, or perhaps you still feel held back because you are a woman? Let us know the issues you face and your views.
David Powles, editor of the Eastern Daily Press, said: “This special edition of the EDP follows on from our successful mental health takeover in August. That gave us a real opportunity to explore in depth a number of issues, as well as give space to a wide-range of opinions on a particular subject.
“Now we want to do the same thing around issues for women in Norfolk and Suffolk. We plan to cover a wide-range of subjects, including aspiration amongst young females, concerns facing young mums in the modern world, growing older in the region and the local fall out from the Harvey Weinstein sex scandal. It will be a must read edition for both women and men.”
There are several ways you can get involved. We’d love to hear about the women you think we should be celebrating. Maybe it’s your boss, a friend, a sports instructor or neighbour - we want to know.
Perhaps you would like to submit a column for consideration? Or maybe you, or your business, would like to be a sponsor.
All the usual local, UK and world news, sport, heritage, TV and puzzles will feature.
