A trust based at Burnham Overy Staithe has been set up to give young people and their families more opportunities to take part in water sports.

Nelson's Coastal Watersports Trust's ambition is to get more people from across East Anglia out on the water to experience the health and social benefits.

The trust boasts triple World Champion and four-time Paralympic sailor Hannah Stodel as its patron.

Sandra Squire, chairman of the trust and also district and county councillor, said: 'Nelson's is an exciting new venture that brings together the passion for the water and wealth of experience that our directors' and patron have, with the support of many local people and businesses, to enable more people to be able to enjoy the benefits of water based activities.'

An official launch will take place at The Boathouse on Saturday, October 21 between 7am and 10am.
