A lifeboat crew was launched to search for a person thought to be cut off on a marsh at Wells by the incoming tide.

The Wells Inshore Lifeboat was deployed after reports were received of someone seen walking about on the marsh at 3.15pm on Sunday (January 14) with an incoming tide and failing light.

A search of the area was carried out while lifeboat crew members also landed on the marsh to carry out a search at Warham Greens.

The team located the person coming safely off the marsh at Garden Drove at about 4.20pm.

Meanwhile a separate search commenced for a person who it was thought had been seen from Wells Boat House in the area of Boat Creek.

But on arrival the Wells Inshore Lifeboat team discovered the 'target' must have been a post or a bush.

The search was called off at 4.45pm and the lifeboat returned to the boathouse after picking up crew members from the marsh.
