A lifeboat was launched to rescue a man who had fallen on a yacht en route from Holland to its home port of Wells.
The Wells inshore lifeboat was called at about 8.08am on Monday, June 24,
Spokesman Peter Rainsford said: "We were called to the Blue Celeste, which was en route from Holland to Wells.
"A crew member had sustained a back injury when he fell in the galley during the night and required medical assistance.
"The ILB launched at 8.18am and met the casualty in the approaches to Wells Harbour at 8.24am where a medic from the lifeboat crew was placed on board to assess the situation.
"It was decided that the best course of action was to administer first aid to the casualty and to make him as comfortable as possible before assisting the casualty vessel to proceed to the quay at Wells on the incoming tide.
"At 8.34am the Blue Celeste and the ILB started to proceed inwards and arrived at the Quay at 9.12am where they were met by the local Coastguard team.
"The injured crewman then went on to hospital for further assessment and treatment and the Blue Celeste was put back on her mooring in Wells harbour.
"The Inshore Lifeboat then proceeded back to the boathouse and was re-housed and re-fuelled and put back on service."
