North Norfolk's popular triathlon event will celebrate its 10th anniversary year on Sunday, September 10.
And for the first time in a decade of running, swimming, and cycling, the event has been chosen to be part of the national league, with competitors accruing points across the UK.
Held in Wells-next-the-Sea, the event is organised by Wells Harbour Maritime Trust. Harbourmaster, Robert Smith, said that being chosen as a national triathlon has 'upped the standard quite a bit. We have lots more competitive entries, and even people coming from overseas to take part'.
However, he added that the organisers want the triathlon to remain 'a local, relaxed event. It's a lot of work to organise - and very popular, with a 150-person waiting list'.
Three hundred competitors will take part in a 1.5km open water swim, a 40km cycle ride, and a 10km run through pine woods to Holkham and back across the beaches to Wells.
