A well-known speaker, judge and photographer shared his tips on technical details with members of North Norfolk Photographic Society.
Ian Wilson, who is a member of Cambridge Camera Club, talked about raw images, those stored by advanced cameras in as close to the form that they were seen by the camera as possible.
He had asked members to bring some images to be adjusted, including a series of four taken on the same spot using a tripod while the sun set.
This resulted in four quite different images, one seriously under-exposed, one over-exposed and two in between.
Each image was adjusted and the result was a picture where the cliffs and rocks were not too dark, and the sky and sunset not too bright.
The society normally meets on the first and third Wednesdays monthly at Holt community centre.
