They have been married longer than many of us have been alive.
And as they celebrate 70 years of marriage, Jim and Jean Johnson say the secret to such a long and lasting relationship is a shared sense of humour.
The couple, aged 95 and 92, who are from Drayton, married on May 29, 1948 in the aftermath of the Second World War.
It was a wedding without the added extras we have in 2018 - one with strict rationing and a 'make do' approach.
Mr and Mrs Johnson had around 50 guests at their Norwich wedding with family baking the cake, guests bringing fruit and Mrs Johnson having to collect tokens to buy her wedding dress.
Mr Johnson was only earning the equivalent to £5 a week at the time.
The wedding was held at the Tuns on the corner of Unthank Road, now known as The Temple Bar.
The couple first met when they were both at Earlham Library, when Mrs Johnson was 16 and Mr Johnson was 19, 76 years ago.
They said the secret to their 70 years was getting on with each other and having the same sense of humour. Mr Johnson said: 'We've had our ups and downs but we've always made up before we went to bed.
'It's weird to think it was 70 years ago, we never thought we'd make it this far.'
Mr Johnson was in the army, based in Egypt and Palestine, for four years and Mrs Johnson was in the Women's Royal Naval Service, based in Dover.
He said: 'Things have changed a lot since the time we got married. There was a shortage of everything, bombing going on and our ceilings falling down.'
They have a daughter, Judy, who was born just five years after the couple got married. They now have two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
To celebrate their anniversary, Mr and Mrs Johnson are having a party on Sunday with family and friends. Mrs Johnson said: 'We had a really big party for our diamond anniversary and even received two cards from the Queen. We're looking forward to the party on Sunday to celebrate with tea, cakes and sandwiches.'
