Temperatures are set to dip below freezing this weekend with the possibility of wintry showers in the region.
Winds from the Arctic will bring cold conditions and frost throughout the weekend with the chance of wintry showers for those living near the coast.
“Cold air will move down towards East Anglia in the second half of Saturday which will bring a cold night and a touch of ground frost on Sunday morning,” said Jim Bacon of Norwich-based Weatherquest. “On Sunday there will sharp showers in the North Sea and when these reach the Norfolk coast later in the evening there could be a chance the showers will be wintry with hail and sleet.”
On Sunday day temperatures will peak at 8C and could drop to -2C in parts of the region during the night. The average temperature for this time of year is 11C.
