Storm Eleanor is causing disruption across Norfolk with fallen trees, power cuts and disruption to some rail services.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning and there are expected to be winds of up to 50 to 60mph throughout the morning.
Drivers are being urged to take care following reports of numerous trees blocking roads across the county, and Norfolk Police is encouraging people to report fallen trees to their local councils.
Richard Jones, a forecaster at UEA-based Weatherquest, said the maximum wind gust recorded in Norfolk last night was 66mph at Marham in west Norfolk.
'Through this morning the winds will continue to be strong and there is likely to be disruption on the roads and the railways across Norfolk. The biggest gusts will continue to be up to 50 to 60mph this morning across Norfolk,' he said.
'Generally through the afternoon and by this evening's rush hour we should see the wind's ease, but it will still be blustery with wind gusts of up to 35 to 40mph.'
@NorfolkPolice has tweeted this morning: 'Various weather related calls coming in now across the county, If you can, please call your local council to make them aware of fallen trees. Officers are assisting as much as they can. #NotJustCrime #StormEleanor'
@NorfolkPolice also tweeted just after 3.30am this morning: 'There are multiple trees down blocking major and minor roads across the county. Drive carefully. A10 South Runcton (northbound) and A140 Dunston Hall are blocked (Norwich bound) #norfolkroads.'
By just before 5.30am police reported that the A10 and A140 were now clear following the incidents with the fallen trees.
@KingsLynnPolice also tweeted in the early hours of the morning: 'Currently babysitting a tree on the A17 at Terrington thanks to #stormeleanor. Elsewhere on the District, this driver had a lucky escape when a falling tree hit their windscreen. #PC982.'
There are also reports of power cuts in Costessey, Cawston and Blofield Heath.
Meanwhile trains are also being disrupted between King's Lynn and London King's Cross and between Norwich and Sheringham.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service has been called out to a number of weather-related incidents.
Firefighters were called to Woodbastwick Road, in Blofield Heath, just before 6am to deal with a powerline that had come down.
A crew from Methwold was also called out at about 6.30am to make fallen cables safe in Lynford Road.
At about 1am this morning one crew from Attleborough attended Wroo Road in Attleborough to secure some tarpaulin on a temporary structure, and just before 3.15am one crew from Great Yarmouth was called out to secure some safety mesh on scaffolding on Apsley Road.
Firefighters were also called to the scene of crash in London Road, in King's Lynn, at about 5.10am although it is unclear if the collision was weather weather related. The crash is believed to have involved two vehicles.
