A city centre cafe is offering free hot drinks and meals to the people of Norwich today (March 1).

KindaKafe on Castle Meadow is open for business and offering those suffering in the snow, a safe place to escape from the cold as well as a free hot drink or meal.

The offer is open to anyone in need as well as those who are helping to keep people safe and moving in the snow, including members of the emergency services, bus drivers, carers and gritters.

Cafe Manager Sarah Rich and a team of volunteers are on hand until 5pm to serve up the food and drinks, which have been donated by KindaKafe customers, through a pay it forward scheme.

Donations can be made via missingkind.orgSocial enterprise The Feed, located on Norwich Market, are also giving away hot drinks throughout the day.

In a post on Facebook they said: 'Our stall in Norwich market is open today we are providing free hot drinks to those who need it and we are still selling hot drinks too, so please come along and support us.'
