The scorching heat of just a week ago seem a distant memory today, with patchy rain and drizzle hitting the region.

After temperatures hit the high 20s earlier in the month, the weekend looks set to provide the type of weather more regularly associated with April, with showers and grey skies ahead.

Forecasters also say there is fog ahead, with the possibility of sunny intervals along the coast.

A tweet from Norwich-based forecasters Weatherquest said: “Today: Cloudy with patchy light rain and drizzle, turning heavy for a time this morning.

“Some mist and fog at times.

“The odd sunny interval along the coast.

“Light to moderate notherly wind.”

The tweet also indicated the maximum temperatures for the region, which will be around 10C to 11C.

A yellow weather warning is in place from the Met Office for Sunday night, with heavy rain and strong winds forecast.
