Norfolk could see hottest day of the year this weekend

This weekend could bring the hottest day of the year so far for Norfolk, as England’s heatwave continues.

Temperatures are predicted to reach a balmy 28C on Saturday and 27C on Sunday.

It would see the current hottest day of the year in Norfolk, 27.4C in Santon Downham last week, topped - just.

Conditions could be hotter elsewhere around the country, with the mercury set to reach 32C in London.

It comes during a particularly busy weekend for the county, with the Lord Mayor’s Celebration happening in Norwich, and England’s world cup clash against Sweden on Saturday afternoon.

The spell of particularly hot weather is expected to continue into next week, though temperatures will cool slightly on Tuesday before climbing again towards the end of the week.
