Forecasts indicate that the weekend’s wet weather looks set to continue through the night, with tidal flooding possible for the north-west coast.

It has been forecast that some parts of the region could expect a month’s worth of rain in the space of just 30 hours, with the downpour expected to continue until Tuesday morning.

Flood alerts are in place for Hunstanton to King’s Lynn, Old Hunstanton to Cley and East Cley to Kelling Hard.

Forecaster Weatherquest says the rain will become “heavy and persistent during the early hours”.

Meanwhile, in Suffolk, the Orwell Bridge in Ipswich will be closed from midnight until the early hours of tomorrow, due to predicted high winds.
