Today could bring the warmest Early May Bank Holiday Monday on record, as the warm weather looks set to continue.

Forecasters say the temperatures could soar to as high as 26C, which would make it the warmest since the bank holiday began in 1978.

Norwich-based forecasters Weatherquest suggest strong sunshine throughout the day with the possibility of the mercury reaching the mid 20s.

Their forecaster said: 'Light winds coming in from the east or southeast will keep the coast slightly cooler - between 14C and 17C - but moving inland widely in the low 20s and we could see some places getting to more like 25C or 26C, which would make it the warmest Early May Bank Holiday Monday on record.'

The forecaster also indicated high UV and pollen levels for the region.
