Waveney Sinfonia Musical Society are presenting two early works by two great composers of symphonies at a Mozart Piano concerto for their summer concert.

The society will be performing Haydn's 6th Symphony, which is almost his first orchestral work. He went on to become 'father' of the symphony, composing a total of 104.

Beethoven's Symphony No. 2 will also be performed, in true Beethoven large proportion style.

Waveney Sinfonia will also be accompanying, in a performance of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21, pianist Alexander Porter, born and bred in Lowestoft.

He has played double bass in the North Suffolk Youth Orchestra, won the Lowestoft Young Musician of the Year and was a prizewinner in the Suffolk Festival. He also attended the Royal College of Music where he took two music degrees and a Master of Music Degree at the University of East Anglia.

This will be his second performance in Lowestoft.

The orchestra will be conducted by Adrian Brown.

The concert will take place Saturday, June 18, at 7.30pm at St Margaret's Church, Holingsworth Road, Lowestoft.
