The water supply has been restored to homes across Norwich after earlier issues with water pressure, Anglian Water has said.

A spokesman said that a power cut had caused pumps at Mousehold water tower to stop, and engineers fixed this by 10am today.

The water tower supplies properties in the Thorpe area.

Lionwood Infant and Nursery School, in Telegraph Lane East, Norwich, was forced to close for the day as it has no water, but it is expected to open as usual tomorrow.

An earlier statement on the Anglian Water website, posted at around 8am, said: 'We're working hard to determine the cause and we'll get your supply back to normal as soon as possible.

'We're really sorry we've inconvenienced you.'
