An estate agent's office may hardly seem the most romantic location, but for Lisa Kierman it was the venue of choice for her Leap Day proposal.

The 42-year-old chose Haart in Thetford as the place to pop the question to boyfriend of five years Kevin Frost. The couple, of Salisbury Way, Thetford, have recently bought a new house through the agent, and she recruited staff there to help in the proposal.

Ms Kierman told her partner they needed to attend to the office to deal with some paperwork, and staff there passed him a letter - disguised as solicitors' correspondence - in which she asked for his hand in marriage.

An almost speechless Mr Frost said 'yes' and the happy couple were presented with Prosecco and flowers from the estate agents. Ms Kierman, a steward at RAF Honington, said: 'I've always wanted to marry him, from day one.

'This was not a long-term plan. I decided last week because it was a Leap Year, I was going to go for it. It was all last-minute. I thought, why not do it somewhere public? I thought there was less chance he'd take me seriously if we were in private.'

Warehouse supervisor Mr Frost, 42, said: 'I'm shocked and I'm speechless, which isn't common. But I'm really happy.'

The couple, who have both been married before, first broached the subject of marriage around three years ago. They already have four children and two grandchildren between them, said they are not planning a big wedding.

Ms Kierman said: 'We're both pretty laid back people and will take things as they come. It's not about the day, it's about being husband and wife.'
