A video of a kidney that was found in a chicken meal in Norwich's Castle Mall has been viewed over 75,000 times after it was uploaded on Facebook.

Jack , 20, took his friend Emily, 20, to the SFC restaurant in the food court of the Castle Mall, Norwich, for bite to eat but they were left horrified when they started to tuck into the four piece chicken mega meal.

'I have been to SFC many times in the past and have always been happy with the food and I took my friend there for lunch as I thought it would be a safe bet, said Jack.

'We were tucking into our meal and when I peeled away the batter I saw something that I could only describe as looking like brain.'

Jack took a video and photos of the discovery before sharing it on social media where it has been viewed over 75,000 times.

Joe La Bella, owner of the SFC chicken branch, confirmed that they had investigated the incident and identified the object.

'After speaking to our suppliers we can confirm that it was in fact a chicken kidney and was no way of harm to the public,' he said. 'The customers were offered a replacement piece of chicken and some complementary fries and we would like to apologise to the them if they had a unpleasant visit to our restaurant.'

He added that the item should've been removed by the suppliers. 'We agree that this was unpleasant and should not have been served,' he said.
