Police are warning retailers in Cromer to be extra vigilant after a spate of thefts from shop tills.
The cautionary call to businesses comes after a man stole £325 from the till at the Cromer Indoor Market while the owner was distracted. The theft happened at around 4.15pm on Monday.
Further information shows that the same man targeted several shops in the town, usually those with a small number of staff. The offender will generally use distraction techniques, such as asking for something from a store room or the back of the shop, and open the till while the staff member is distracted.
Police are now appealing for information relating to this investigation. Call PC Adrian Craske on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
