'Either stupid or naive' - That's how the sight of two young men climbing at the site of a recent cliff fall on the Norfolk coast has been described.

The men were seen yesterday (Monday, July 15) evening walking on the site of the cliffs at Mundesley, where part of the rock and soil recently collapsed onto the beach.

Pete Revell, from the Coastguard's Bacton team, said their actions should serve as a warning to others.

He said: "It's stupidity or naivety - they might be on holiday and don't know the area.

"We haven't had any rain in a very long time and the cliffs are very dry and crumbly.

"Something like this could cause part of it to come down again.

"And if we get called out, we put our lives in danger."

Mr Revell said anyone who saw people climbing Norfolk's coastal cliffs should report it to the Coastguard

He said: "Please do not climb on the cliffs or cliff falls and if you spot anyone please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
