Police have urged residents to be vigilant after a number of garage break-ins in recent weeks.

Most recently two separate addresses along Ormesby Road, former RAF Coltishall, were targeted on Thursday April 28 and Wednesday May 4.

The majority of incidents have happened overnight with some owners having property stolen while other garages have been entered without anything being taken.

North Walsham sergeant Kersty Brooks said: 'We are carrying out patrols and handing out leaflets in the areas targeted to encourage anyone who may have information about the break-ins to come forward as well as offering crime prevention advice'.

Garage owners are advised to use good quality mortice locks or padlocks, fit a security light, use padlocks and chains to secure high value items to an anchor, and each other, and overtly security mark property with a house number and post code.
