The 1st Battalion, The Royal Anglian Regiment is half-way through Exercise Askari Thunder, which is being carried out in the withering temperatures and desolate terrain of Archer's Post in northern Kenya.
The programme is a mixture of simulated tactical battles and live-ammunition manoeuvres aimed at conditioning the troops for battle.
This video shows B Company troops during a Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise (CALFEX) in which they use live ammunition and grenades while manoeuvring through the harsh terrain and 40-degree heat of equatorial Africa.
