Video: Old Buckenham military show set to wow the crowds
It is set to be an unforgettable experience, designed to allow everyone to experience the sights and sounds of conflicts throughout the 20th century.
And plans for the first Military Revival at Old Buckenham Airfield are well under way with more than 300 re-enactors and displays already signed up.
A YouTube channel now live online also gives people a glimpse of what to expect and currently demonstrates the effect a 20 tonne Combat Engineers Tractor can have on a simple Peugeot van, the remains of which can be found for sale on Ebay.
Airfield manager, Matt Wilkins, said the inaugural event, of which the EDP is a media partner, and which is due to be held from October 4 to 6, was inspired by the East of England Military Museum which had set up home on the site.
He added: 'Major military shows are part of what they do and it's going to be one of those things where everyone is in some sort of costume so if you squint you would think you were in the 1940s or 1970s.
You may also want to watch:
'They take it all extremely seriously, right down to the tins of boot polish, and stick to the era and normally the public don't get to see these aspects of history and understand the noise and smells and the size of it all. 'This is about bringing history back again and talking about what actually went on and, in some cases, about how messy and horrific it was but obviously it's not meant to be morose and it's very sensitive. Basically it's just a really good weekend.'
People will be encouraged to get involved on the day by digging trenches, taking rides in the vehicles and visiting the military-themed stalls and 'enormous' authentic living history encampments.

Vehicles confirmed include the T55 tank, and several other Russian Jeeps, used on the James Bond film Goldeneye, as well as nuclear missile carriers, including a drill missile, multiple launch rocket systems, tanks and armoured cars from all over the world.
Military campsites, provided by re-enactors, will present a living history display, themed to eras and conflicts, while an authentic Vietnam bar will serve refreshments.
The event will also include a demonstration arena, mock battles from conflicts throughout the 20th century, tank rides, militaria and air displays from military aircraft.
There be a 1940's hangar dance on the Saturday evening of the weekend and the Friday will be a dedicated schools day for pupils to tour the exhibits in depth.
As with the site's sister display, the Old Buckenham Airshow, funds will go to Leonard Cheshire Disability and The Air Cadets.
Tickets, which start at 10 per car in advance, can be bought from the website at www.militaryrevival.com.
