A busy road was closed this lunchtime after a van burst into flames.

The drama happened just after 1.20pm on Clenchwarton Road, off the Pullover Roundabout.

Firefighters were quickly on the scene and used hosereel jets to put out the fire.

Police said the driver escaped unharmed.
