US actress and singer Debbie Reynolds has died, a day after the death of her daughter Carrie Fisher.

The 84-year-old Singin' In The Rain star suffered a stroke on Wednesday and was taken to a Los Angeles hospital.

Her son Todd Fisher said it happened at his Beverley Hills home, where they were making plans for Fisher's funeral, according to US media.

Fisher - renowned for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars series - died on Tuesday aged 60, following a cardiac arrest on a plane.
