The electricity supply has been restored to the majority of homes in Horsford following a substation fault earlier this evening.

The problem, which began at 4.55pm, initially affected 778 customers to the north of Norwich. Engineers were gradually able to restore the power with 171 homes re-connected within five minutes, 337 at 5.44pm and a further 268 at 6pm.

By 7.30pm just two customers were still without power.

It had affected the Holt Road area of the village.

A spokesman said: 'We appreciate how difficult it can be to lose power and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.'
