Firefighters are tackling a blaze which has seen a cottage in a small village go up in flames.
The fire broke out at the middle cottage of a trio of terraced properties in Pug Street, Shimpling, near Dickleburgh, north of Diss, at about 9am today.
Fire crews from Diss, Harleston, Carrow and Long Stratton were sent to the scene.
They managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the two neighbouring properties and the female tenant, her daughter and their pets escaped unharmed.
At the height of the blaze, there were 30 firefighters tackling the blaze. They wore breathing apparatus and used hoses to bring the fire under control.
Some of the fire crews are still on scene and will be there until dark and will be returning tomorrow morning.
Police are also on scene and the road is blocked.
It is not yet known how the fire broke out and further investigations will be held.
Station manager Ray Harcourt said: 'Crews were initially hampered by a lack of water and the severity of the fire.
'The initial crews requested additional appliances and we had five appliances here. The crews did a fantastic job of stopping the fire spreading to the neighbouring properties and kept it under control.'
