Two women arrested on suspicion of an attack on a middle-aged couple in Norwich have been released on police bail
Two women being questioned in connection with an assault in Norwich have been released on police bail.
The women, aged 33 and 49, both from the Norwich area, had been been arrested following an attack on a man close to Rose Lane car park, St John's Street, near Mountergate, shortly after 1.30am on Thursday.
The 54-year-old victim, a local man, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in a critical condition. His partner, a 42-year-old woman, was also attacked and sustained minor injuries.
Two men, aged 19 and 21, from the London area were also arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent but have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
